The Netherlands is a pleasant country to live in. However it has its peculiarities. Tailbacks are an example thereof. But that is a rather disastrous example. The Dutch cabaret performer Herman Finkers once joked “I don’t know what they like about it, but they are all waiting in line for it”.

Natural(ly) Mobility

Now let us be serious: tailbacks represent the highest costs and are the largest polluters of this country. Each car idling on the highway is an example of economic and environmental damage. The influence of mankind on climate change is no longer an assumption. Facts and figures illustrate all, and the world is confronted with new devastating scenarios every day. The general awareness is that something should be now (finally) done about it.

This is why motorways or as the Americans says ”freeways” no longer deserve this name. For simply too many cars are driving on the motorways or freeways. That is why it is high time for stringent measures, in order to create some space on our limited highway network. Start with free public transport for all, without profit motives. This works fine in Belgium. As the number of passengers will increase significantly, it is evident that much more busses and trains will have to be operated. From the environmental point of view this would prove to be a positive sign. Persons using the car, notwithstanding the availability of a perfect public transport alternative, will need to pay for using the highway. Simply a matter of inserting two Euro in a point-of-payment at the beginning of the highway, after which the barrier will open. Naturally this is not intended in a literal sense of the word, but by means of an automatic toll system behind every front car window. There are numerous measures in force which should force back the results of motorised road use and new initiatives are continuously developed in order to adjust the use and maintenance of vehicles to the environmental standards. Profile Tyrecenter, 1,2,3/// AutoService and abc Autoservice as market leaders do not shirk their responsibility. By means of innovative products and maintenance formulas, they contribute to and environmental conscious mobility and guide road users in their choice for change.
